The access2growth team were elated when a 1989 copy of “Machinery and Production Engineering” was very kindly sent to them.

The six-page article talks about Joe Booth’s J-I-T successes as a Production Director at York International, and his revolutionary focus on changing culture.

“Essentially, the change which Booth is making is a cultural one in which the communication for action flows upwards from the workers operating as teams. Ideas come from them. The implementation of a bottom-up approach called for three fundamental issues to be addressed: the importance of management commitment, the changed role of the foreman, and workforce attitudes and morale.”
